Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB)

Starting July 1, 2016 Universal Child Care Benefit (taxable) and Canada Child Tax Benefit (tax-free) were replaced with Canada Child Benefit (tax-free)The Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) program was introduced in 2006 as a taxable benefit to help Canadian families.  By the end of the year 2014, Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) paid $100 per month per child under the age of 6 years.  Starting January 1, 2015, the amount was increased to $160 per month per child under the age of 6 years.    In addition to the increase in the amount for child under the age of 6 years, the program also introduced a payment of $60 per month, per child, between the ages of 6 and 17 years.  The amounts from January to June 2015 were paid in the month of July 2015.  After June, a monthly payment was made for each month.Enrolment for the UCCB is processed through the Child Tax Benefits application or by applying online on My Account by using the "Apply for child benefits service".Following are the tentative dates of payment for the calendar year 2016.
